Irish bar in Dusseldorf in 2001. We were playing Sunderland in the cup. When we scored me and this German guy both jumped up giving it the big one. Turned out he was a former season ticket holder for about four years when working in East London. We watched every live game together till the end of the season.

In Myanmar a couple of years ago and my cab driver was a West Ham fan. He said he’d given scott Parker a lift before. All a bit surreal

I did ask one of them if they follow AC or Inter and got a very agressive no.

Joe, they normally support an Italian club AND West Ham

Was in Milan and wanted to watch a West Ham game so got a train to the main square and asked the bloke selling ice cream outside the cathederal where I could watch football .

The English pub around the corner was his reply .

It's a full on West Ham pub with photos scarves and signed shirts proudly hanging on the walls and was full of Italian West Ham fans .

How they follow out shabby club instead of AC or Inter god knows.

Isolated pub near Inverness - covered in West Ham stuff.

I say pub, but it was little more than a tin shack.

Owner wasn't in, so I really only met a West Ham fan's employees.

Getting out of the car after parking up in Port Isaac, Cornwall. The bloke parking next to me was sporting West Ham colours. It surprised me but I suppose it shouldn’t really!

Re: When was the last time you randomly met another West Ham fan in an unexpected place?
When I was 17 I went on my first football tour to Belgium and Holland. Played an amateur Mini World Cup with my Sunday League team.

Every single night we were obviously out on the lash hitting it hard. One night we played a game in Oostend, and went out to a club. As it was during the week and we were the only ones in there they wanted to shut the place early, but we chipped in a couple of hundred quids worth of Francs and they kept it open a couple of extra hours.

We eventually get kicked out at 4.30am and we start making the way back to our hotel. It was a cold November night was really foggy as we were walking along the river.

Then a lone mysterious figure came walking towards us through the fog. Head down, didnt want any trouble, he just walked past us and kept himself to himself.

I was at the back, and as he walked past me I said to him "WEST HAM UNITED".

To my utter disbelief this bloke looked up at me, and with the most cockney accent you could imagine, and with the biggest smile said "Come on You Irons".

Brisbane, Australia. Was mooching about wearing a WH shirt and a bloke accosted me. He was from Walthamstow.
Later that same day I was propositioned by a homosexual who approached me and said, apropos of nothing, "do you want to get it on?".

I declined.

Older woman high-fived me in Aldi yesterday morning after pointing to my scarf and her t-shirt.

Bit of a weird encounter, in hindsight but we are everywhere.
